This policy explains what personal information Lady Liberty Hong Kong collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. We keep what we collect to a minimum.

What we collect, and why
- Newsletter sign-ups. If you subscribe, we collect your email address (and any name you provide) to send you our updates. This is done with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing. Our newsletter is operated through Mailchimp.
- Website analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it. Analytics run only if you accept analytics cookies in the banner shown on your first visit; IP addresses are anonymised. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set.
- Messages you send us. If you email us, we receive your message and email address, and any information you choose to include. Please send only what is necessary.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our host records standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and time of request) for security and reliable operation.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file stored by your browser. This site sets no non-essential cookies unless you consent. The only cookies that require consent are those used by Google Analytics; they are set after you accept, and not before. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser, after which the banner will appear again.
Who processes your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make the site work, acting on our behalf:
- Google (Google Analytics) — website analytics.
- Mailchimp (Intuit) — newsletter delivery.
- Our hosting provider — serving the website and keeping technical logs.
- Proton Mail — for our confidential contact inbox, if you write to us there.
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy. Some are based in the United States, so your information may be processed outside Japan and the EEA under the safeguards those providers maintain.
How long we keep it
We keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard settings. Emails and messages are kept only as long as needed for the matter you contacted us about, and sensitive materials are deleted when no longer required.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict its use, to receive a copy, and to withdraw consent (including unsubscribing from the newsletter). To exercise any of these, email admin@ladylibertyhongkong.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
If you are in Japan you may also contact the Personal Information Protection Commission (PPC); if you are in the EEA or UK, you may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, but no website or online service can be guaranteed completely secure. For anything sensitive, please use the secure channel described in Contacting Us Safely.

We may update this policy as our tools or obligations change. The date below shows when it was last revised.
