The Foundation
Lady Liberty Hong Kong (LLHK) is an independent research and advocacy institute focused on the Hong Kong democracy movement and the broader human rights landscape in East and Southeast Asia. What began as a public sculpture project has grown into an organization dedicated to documentation, analysis, and advocacy.

Research & Advocacy
We monitor, analyze, and document the discourse surrounding the Hong Kong democracy movement and the wider region — producing accurate, evidence-based research that counters disinformation and builds a reliable record for journalists, historians, and policymakers. We turn that evidence into advocacy: curated data, analysis, and resources that help international organizations and governments bring the Hong Kong and regional context into human-rights frameworks and policy.

We serve as a hub for pro-democracy and human-rights movements across East and Southeast Asia, helping them jointly develop documentation practices, safety standards, and shared advocacy — so that isolated struggles become a connected, mutually reinforcing network.
Democratic Resilience
Authoritarian pressure spreads fastest where civil society is isolated and unprepared. We work to strengthen the resilience of the movements and communities under that pressure — building the records, tools, relationships, and know-how that let civil society withstand repression and sustain the long work of democratic change.
