- Date
- 12 June 2022
12 June marks one of the most significant dates in the history of the Hong Kong protest movement. On 12 June 2019, police deployed tear gas and rubber bullets against demonstrators gathered outside the Legislative Council — the first major use of force in what would become a prolonged and defining struggle for Hong Kong's freedoms. The date has since been commemorated annually by Hongkongers and solidarity supporters around the world.
On the third anniversary, Lady Liberty HK joined the commemoration events in the Czech Republic, bringing the statue's presence to Central Europe as a symbol of the continuing fight for Hong Kong's democracy.
