Christmas should be a day of celebration for all, but with the police running out of control, Hongkongers endured a deeply troubled Christmas.

During the Christmas period, police repeatedly fired tear gas and rubber bullets in busy commercial areas and deployed water cannon trucks and armoured vehicles, employing disproportionate violence and making indiscriminate arrests. The Lady Liberty Hong Kong team strongly condemns the ongoing police violence.

We sincerely wish a speedy recovery to the two fellow protesters who were injured after falling from a building.

As a Hongkonger, this year there is only one Christmas wish: may peace return to Hong Kong.
