District Council Elections Conclude — Resistance Blossoms Everywhere — Never Forget the Blood and Sweat of Our Fellow Protesters — Restore the Values of Hong Kong

The new round of District Council elections has concluded. Driven by a high voter turnout, the pro-democracy camp achieved a landslide victory, securing an overall majority of seats across Hong Kong. As a result of this victory, the pro-democracy camp is also guaranteed to win all 117 Election Committee seats for the 2021 Chief Executive election.

Citizens have made clear through their votes their recognition and support for months of protest action and principles, and have also expressed their distrust and anger toward those in power and the pro-establishment camp.

The Lady Liberty Hong Kong team sincerely congratulates all incoming pro-democracy District Councillors. We are heartened that citizens, even in these dark days, chose to stand in the light. At the same time, we understand that these electoral gains were purchased with the youth, blood, sweat, and lives of young people. We therefore ask everyone to remember the sacrifices young people have made for Hong Kong society.

The team hopes that the new District Council will carry forward the "brave and peaceful together" spirit of the resistance movement, and with a humble heart that never forgets the virtue of being like water, continue to stand alongside Hongkongers on the road against tyranny.
